Technology founders invited to the newly formed Ship-It Rating Agency

The new organisation is seeking opinion on a soon-to-be-launched service for start-ups and scale-ups to assess their product development capabilities for funding purposes. The “Ship-It Rating” that results from the assessment can be directly accessed and understood by prospective investors as tech firms navigate through the challenging process of raising finance.

The Ship-it Rating Agency (SIRA) believes strongly that a critical gap in the information on the product viability of tech firms is exacerbating those fund-raising challenges and the agency is addressing this. It is seeking early involvement from founders and investors. Read on for more details and how to get involved…

SIRA assessments are designed to be simple to take and fully focus on product development viability. The rating, confidentially awarded, is statistically rigorous to be applied consistently across industries that have product development as a critical part of their growth plans.

The method requires some business plan data and uses a questionnaire style to derive around forty data points. The underlying model initially includes statistics from 742 innovators with results being refined by Bayesian Inference to utilise accumulating data from UK industry.

For early participants there are advantages of free assessments which will provide comparative insights into their operations and can be made public at the rated entity’s discretion.

Until launch time in March 2024, qualifying firms engaging in the pilot or contributing to surveys will be assessed free of charge, resulting in the, optionally confidential, “Ship-It Rating” for your tech developments ranging from D to AAA.
